Rating: Teen (for language, pretty much)
Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Length: 1000 words, ish.
Summary: Arthur likes to think of it as gallantry; Eames mostly just thinks it's cute.

( I See France )
I've finally just posted the two last big pieces of the Steinway!Verse, making the grand total wordcount break through the 150K mark. (I...cannot actually process that.) In any case, these are the fics most requested in the comments after I posted the mid-point Cobb wedding sadfic of DOOM: namely, the one where they break up and (better yet) the one where they get back together. Both are quite angsty. Sorry about that. *coughIblamemybetaLately*
Be sure, by the way, to read these two big-ass stories in the order posted here, i.e. I Will Forget the Light first, and then Du bist die Ruh. I suppose you could reverse the order, but why multiply the angst? :P
One last thing - while this does mark the last of the major instalments I had planned/plotted, I am not necessarily calling this 'verse completed as it stands. Your curiosity should be satisfied, I hope, by these two pieces -- but I don't intend to close the door on writing more Steinway. (In fact, I have at least two or three ficlets in progress -- active progress -- even as I type this.)
Thanks to all of you who've come along for this ride, who have shared your feedback along the way, and who are still here to finally finish out this last flourish with me. ♥ you all.
Rating: Explicit
Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Length: 21,400 words
Summary: Takes place in the Steinway!Verse, after Whither Thou Goest.
"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going" ~ Beverly Sills
Doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is a good working definition of insanity.
Warnings/Content Notes: (skip) References to and plot points around mental illness, mental breakdown, post partum depression, and threatened harm to children (though no serious injury to children.) Read at your own discretion!

( Du bist die Ruh )
Rating: Explicit
Pairing: Arthur/Eames, Arthur/OMC, Eames/implied others
Length: 26,700 words
Summary: Set in the Steinway!Verse, after Chantant sur le mode mineur.
“The piano is a monster that screams when you touch its teeth.” ~ Andre Segovia
Coming unravelled in your senior year is practically a tradition at the conservatory. Arthur's never been one to do things by halves.
Content Notes: Contains references to musician injury, open relationships, long distance relationship (failure), insomnia, and huge amounts of senior-year angst. Musicians live large, and that carries over to pain too, I'm afraid. All I can say is: in the grand scheme of things, the boys get their happy ending. But you already knew that if you've read the previous fics.

( I Will Forget the Light )

Pairing: Arthur/Eames

Summary:

A/N: In Unkissed 'verse, set some time after You Yes You. Came about entirely because
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Content Notes: Contains lots & lots of kinks, including shoe/foot fetish, fetish/burlesque wear, crossdressing, gender fuckery/queerness, feminizing talk, D/s overtones, (accidental) breathplay, and (hints of) spanking, as well as your more run-of-the-mill gay sex. All that being said, the basic tone of the fic is that Tom convinces Joe to try something, and Joe likes it more than he expected. Based off wild and completely unsubstantiated conjecture regarding the kinks of those involved and not, in any way, meant to reflect real life. (Unless, of course, you want to read something into Tom's oft-quoted passion for women's shoes and Joe's propensity to crossdress. *cough*)
( Instep )
Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Length: 2800 words
Summary: Eames probably would have been pleased with a sandwich, but Arthur's got a knack for making Eames happy in surprising ways.
A/N: Missing scene of sorts from Oh, the Places You'll Go!. Sextra, really, from Eames' POV.

Character/Pairing(s): Arthur/Eames, Dom Cobb, Yusuf, Ariadne, Original Female Characters
Warnings: Strong language, sexual content. (See above, re. "explicit"?) Domestic fic, complete with (eventual) baby. Consider yourself warned.
Summary: Ndoto haihadithiwi ~ You can’t name a dream.
- Swahili Proverb
Arthur and Eames are on the verge of giving up mind crime when Cobb convinces Arthur to be his point man on one last job — which rather inevitably goes wrong. Eames is pulled into the mess as Cobb’s simple heist spirals into an attempt on inception. It’s time to stop trespassing on the dreams of others; building a home takes two sets of hands.

Rating: Explicit
Length: ~7000 words
Summary: Eames would gladly welcome comparisons to other dashing bearded men, but Eames rarely gets what he wants when it comes to Arthur.

I Want Your Psycho (AO3 link)
Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Length: 12,800 words
Summary: Arthur's one of the bright lights of the conservatory, but he's sharing the stage with a star about to go supernova.
Notes: This takes place after Between the Notes, during Eames' final year at school. While I can't in all fairness label this as angst, I feel I should perhaps warn for something of an ambiguous ending, at least until I complete and post the next story in the series (which is mostly done, actually, but not quite ready for prime time.) I had planned to wait until all the big remaining story pieces were done but it occurred to me at last that this part is quite ready to go and putting it out there can only inspire me to work harder on getting the 'verse completed.
Also, Arthur is playing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, which is a crazily ambitious thing for a 21 year old pianist to tackle.
Chantant sur le mode mineur (link to AO3)

Fandom: Inception/TDKR RPF
