Oooh!

I literally just made that noise. I woke up this morning to a message from [livejournal.com profile] reena_jenkins that she had podficced the How Not to Fly 'verse.

I'll say that again: the How Not to Fly 'verse. That's some eight hours of podfic, right there. I'm completely blown away! Of course I haven't listened to the whole thing yet (though I've started) but I love what I've heard. I adore hearing other people read my fic. Actually, I just love podfic in general. It takes me back to when I was a little kid listening to stories on tape at bedtime, except with more sexy bits.

Did I mention there's also a pair of covers by [livejournal.com profile] bessyboo? So cool!

Anyway, here's [livejournal.com profile] reena_jenkins's post (which includes some very lovely and flattering things about the 'verse). Go forth and download and listen, and most importantly, give Reena some love, yo. EIGHT. HOURS.

McSmooch Fic: Holy Matrimony, Batman

toomuchplor: (rodney heart-bum)
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Sheppard/McKay
Length: 1964 words
Rating: NC-17
Summary: For [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon's latest round of kisses at [livejournal.com profile] mcsmooch.  In the How Not to Fly 'verse, set around the same time as It Isn't That Amazing. May not make a ton of sense if you haven't at least gotten the general idea of events in How Not to Fly.

John has to work hard to stay awake so he can enjoy the whole thing: Rodney's blunt-nailed fingertips skating across John's skin, the gentle sweet tickle of it, soothing and comforting and a whole lot of things John had thought he was past desiring after about age ten.

A/N: Some vague relation to DADT repeal, sort of. Definite kissing, though. I got that bit right.  It's probably the fic I meant to write when I wrote Hot Box instead.

Pairing: John/Rodney
Rating: PG
Length: 346 words
Warning: Contains nine year old boy humour. (So, really, *my* humour. Sad.)
Summary: Half-awake, they’re disarmed and grouchy and they talk like they think PJ can’t hear them. In the How Not to Fly 'verse, set around the time of It Isn't That Amazing.

A/N: As I've been whining to anyone who will listen, I have the zombie plague or something because my normal-ass cold has mutated into a weird spreading itchy-as-fuck-all rash that is making me completely unable to sleep from the itching and the zombie horror. (Yes, I'm going to the doctor. No, not until Tuesday. I know. Canadian health care. It's free?) So I'm loopy enough to post this somewhat awful ficlet I wrote the other day. Unbeta'ed. Written while high and coming down with zombie plague. AND NOT EVEN THAT FUNNY IN SPITE OF THAT. Also, I have to be up in 5.5 hours. Oh, and I have two concerts tomorrow. In which I am conducting. Fuck you zombie plague!

Hmm, I was going to wait for this until Tuesday or Wednesday, but I am posting this for all the Sunday-night insomniacs or maybe just those in different time zones.

The first of two codas for my recently posted story, How Not to Fly.

Rating: NC-17
Pairing: John/Rodney
Length: 4963 words
Summary: "Didn’t we all read this one in the 70s? It’s earthy and all the cartoon people are fat.” Coda fic for How Not to Fly, set not long after the end of that story.

Fic: How Not to Fly

  • Sep. 29th, 2010 at 7:55 AM
toomuchplor: (Default)
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Rating: NC-17
Length: 56 731 words

Summary:

And then the door chimed, and Woolsey came in looking mournful and anxious, and everything got derailed.

Death and life, hope and hopelessness, aren't just for the Pegasus galaxy.  Eventually, inevitably, it's going to happen on Earth.  John and Rodney, loss and family and what it means to be home.

Warning: Death of a minor canon character in a way integral to the plot; deals with bereavement and loss suffered by a major character.  No major characters die in this story, however.
