About a year ago I posted warning that this would likely happen and it seems I was right. The crazy thing is that said boss will be returning from his year-long break in five days, whereupon I anticipate I will have a little more free time again.
I've been a fandom lurker the past year, truth be told. There haven't been many weeks (although they did exist) when I didn't skim my flist. I fell upon and devoured many new fics by my favorite authors, and often (though not as often as I should have) even left comments. It seems everyone and their cat is now leaping on the Merlin bandwagon. Last time this happened on my flist, it was SGA, and it took me about a year to catch up. I've tried watching Merlin but can't get past the first half of the first episode before my ADD kicks in and I lose patience. But judging by all the lovely people now migrating there, I can guess it gets better?
In any case, about three weeks ago, working off pre-big-event work-related stress, I sat down and wrote, seriously, like 30 pages of John the gay!virgin porn. So it's safe to say I still have the writing itch. Whether it ever produces anything better than that crap, I can't say.
Anyway -- *waves* Hi fandom! I miss you!
Wow, so it's been very much a non-starter year for fandom over here on my LJ. I've been a fandom lurker the past year, truth be told. I don't know if the writing is worth exposing to the universe, it's crazy self-indulgent and just kind of crap, but it obviously served its purpose for me anyway!
(and yes, it gets better the farther along the season goes. Arthur stops being a total waste of space by ep 2, which is a relief. At that point, if you're me, you fall totally buttcrazy in love with him, which is quite a swing.)
and if you're looking for a new fandom other than Merlin, may I suggest Leverage? It's small, but growing fast, and it's slashy and funny and fun and awesome.
anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing you around again. :)
And I will so don't mind if you just stay in SGA, at least for a while longer. Not all of us have migrated. :D
John the gay!virgin porn! YAY \o/
Hopefully Rodney fits in the sequence too.
And yeah, SGA is really the best fandom. The best.
Hi hi! :D
Also, gay!virgin John?? Yay! *makesgrabbyhands*
I think I'm in denial about this stuff at the moment... so many others have missed him so much I'm hesitant to admit that it might not be sunshine and roses for me now he's back. But yes, it'll also be nice to give him some projects I don't particularly enjoy.

I probably made it sound a lot better than it is. Hrm.
"Where's the rum? I got your rum RIGHT HERE!"
Hi!
I can't wait to see anything you might post...
...and can I just say, O, PLEASE TO RESIST TEH REN FAIR JAILBAITS!!
Seriously, I cannot get interested in Merlin, it's like watching Muppet Babies instead of a good episode of The Muppet Show. Or something like that.
Put that way, I doubt I would ever see the appeal. *g* They do seem a bit young to me, truth be told. So far I've been resisting them effortlessly.
And I'm also on the list of not-yet-converted WRT Merlin. They're just so young!
Ah, well, it's really not any good, I promise you. But hopefully it's sort of primed the writing pump, or some other analogy that is far less dirty.
