I'm really enjoying the Barista!Mike series, and your writing is excellent. In exchange for sharing all your wonderful stories, you get my appreciation and some information :). If 100 MB space is enough for you (small web resolution pictures and mainly text) then you can get it for 0 dollars at doteasy.com price list (http://www.doteasy.com/Services/WebHosting/). Of course, it doesn't have any frills on it, just basic files and html and also not very high bandwidth(which means your site might be unavailable if too many people try accessing it. I use 1and1's webhosting service Beginner's hosting plan (http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/HostingBeginner;jsessionid=CA3DBE8D6A85869C9004C2842B371EB8.TC60b?__frame=_top&__lf=Static). It's less than 3 dollars a month and has about 5 GB of space, which is probably way more than you need but it's cheaper than most, if not all others(as far as I know) and you can store your stuff online and use it as a portable hard drive, I suppose. The service is good, and it also comes with a free domain. Hope that helps.

Also, Vox populli has some cheap plans and (even better!) is fan friendly. the person running it has even offered to donate special space for fannish projects - like brief uploads to be shared, etc. I've not had any problems with my site there. :)

Oh - and cheap - $5/yr for the cheapest plan, cheap.
