New Year's Fic Resolutions

So even though 2005 was probably the least productive fic year ever, I noticed as I compiled the list that I at least branched out in terms of writing. I went from being an almost exclusively Clark-based writer in 2004 (Omiai being the biggest example) to almost 50/50 Lex and Clark POV (with a few others thrown in for variety, natch). I also got far, far dirtier. I think I've had more NC-17 ratings this year than any other kind. I wrote in 2 new fandoms, one of which I will almost certainly return to (SPN). I stuck closer to canon than ever, in many stories, avoiding the shiny shiny lure of the AU. But it got me thinking... what do I want to do for fic in 2006?

A meme! Feel free to steal if you like.

1. My Fandoms: (more fandoms? fewer? one fandom you're dying to try?)

2. My POVs: (is there a character on the sideline who needs a voice? do you always avoid one half of your pairing? or do you want to try writing in 2nd or 1st person?)

3. My Genres: (do you need more funny? more angst? more plotty goodness? less death!fic? more canon, less future? a really good AU?)

4. My Creative Style: (do you want to improv a story? work from wee little prompts? or finally train yourself to plan your plot in advance and stick to it?)

5. My Unfinished Works: (what are you secretly working on? what do you want to abandon at the roadside like so much flattened hedgehog?)

6. My Plot Bunnies: (what ideas will not let you go? do you want to start feeding your muses? or do you want to start sifting through your hundreds of bunnies with more selective eyes?)

7. The One Thing I'd Die To Be Able To Write: (a murder mystery AU where Lex is a castrato? Oh, no, wait -- that's mine. But you get the idea.)

My own version's under the cut tag.

Year-End Writing Meme

So last year, in 2004, I wrote 40 pieces of fiction, all-told. And one of them was Omiai.

This year?

17. And 5 of them are practically drabbles.

Where did all my productivity go? Even with the monster beast that is Constellation (very nearly tipping over the 100K mark for wordage now), I wrote far far less -- Omiai was almost the exact same length when complete.

Anyway, here is the list )
