It has been a fairly productive year in terms of writing. lately and I did some math the other day and my (posted) wordcount for the year is over 200K, with about another 50K lurking in the unposted land. No wonder I've got nothing done in the rest of my life.

2003: 9 stories. The Year of Discovering Fandom.
2004: 40 stories. The Year of First Fandom Love.
2005: 17 stories. The Year of First Fandom Disenchantment.
2006: 18 stories. The Year of Second Fandom Love and First Fandom Farewell.
2007: 19 stories. The Year of 'Yep, This Is All the Time I Have For This.'
2008: 8 stories. The Year I Drifted Away.
2009: 8 stories. The Year I Was Gone A Lot.
2010: 14 stories. The Year I Came Back, Yaye!
2011: 28 stories. The Year I Wrote A Whole Fucking Fuckton.

The rambly thinky part:

My favorite: Okay, Ach des Knaben Augen has to win this category this year. It's probably the most real thing I've written in a lot of ways, and I have been so delighted by the way this universe took over everything ever in my brain. I also have a sort of embarrassingly overwhelming fondness for the podfic of this story by pennyplainknits and xenakis. I honestly listen to it every time I fly, and I've flown a lot this year. (Also, Eames singing Erlkönig wakes me up every. single. time.)  It's probably weird to listen to podfic of your own story, but I'm also a composer IRL and it strikes me as being similar in a way.  When you write/compose something, there is a very enticing remixing aspect in hearing someone perform your music/fic differently (and often better) than how you envisioned it.

My best: I'm going to pick Whither Thou Goest for this one.  This has always been a poignant part of that 'verse's story in my head, even before it was ever written. It's also, in a way, closest to my head canon for Arthur and Eames in general -- precariously on the brink of a happily ever after that is (for now) just out of reach.

Most fun story: Definitely Je te veux, mostly because it was a collaboration with Xen and Penny, and it was so much fun to write a fic in this storybook way from Eames' unique POV.

Sexiest story: Oh, probably The Sweetest Downfall.  I think this story is about 1/3 porn by weight. \o/

Story with single sexiest moment: Unkissed, which is a long-ass fic (and still in beta), but I am fond of the bit where Tom wakes up all snuggled into Joe's back and they sort of almost accidentally have frottage sex before they remember that Tom can't, and they shouldn't, and it's weird that it's sexy to me even though it's utterly unconsummated, but there it is.

Hardest story to write: No Soul to Sell, because I don't write age difference kink and I don't (generally) write mpreg and I don't write plotty canon-based fic and this one was ALL THREE WHAT FUN.  It's a weird, angular fic in my mind, like a least-loved child, but it's still mine.

Most unintentionally telling story: Let Not My Love Be Called Idolatry, because I was clearly writing RPF with fictional names and some vague allusions to Inception canon as lip-service to it being fictional. OH PLOR, THERE WAS NO AVOIDING THAT 40K RPF FIC COMING DOWN THE LINE, NICE TRY THOUGH.

Next Year, I Will...

1) Finish Steinway!verse. YES, REALLY.

2) Write in another fandom or two.

3) Write some original fiction. No, I mean it this time.

4) Upload (the rest of) my fic to AO3.
