It's a good topic because I've always felt that TPTB missed out on a lot by going the easy sci-fi route and making everyone speak English, but I confess that I tend to do as they do and pretend that it doesn't pose any difficulty b/c I can't come up with a plausible device to make it make SENSE. It'd be kind of awesome if SG teams returned to Earth with the ability to understand and speak ALL languages, though, huh? Like, suddenly, Rodney is conversing in clicks with a Xhosa and Keller is fluent in Cantonese?
