I know this is how it has to go with them, and I know it all ends in happiness and cuddles under the Steinway, but even holding those truths in my mind as I read this didn't take anything away from how much it hurt. You've done this so, so well - that horrible aching inevitable feeling of the two of them being so right together, but still not quite able to fall into step.
