An Actual Update on Life!

I thought I should write an actual post instead of just posting/linking to fic and/or whining about fic. So! Here it is!

I've created a fannish Twitter account for myself. So far I have not tweeted one tweet but that may well change. If you want to follow my total lack of tweets, I'm @toomuchplor (obviously) -- and if your Twitter handle is different from your LJ/DW handle let me know so I can figure out who is who. I'm only following like four people right now but I will happily add more!

Later this week I'm off to the States for a work thing, during which I anticipate not much internet time. It's a happy work thing, professional development and all, and I am really looking forward to a much-needed booster shot of inspiration and excitement at this point in our season because I am almost drained of both in the work sense. Anyway, I'll be away Wednesday to Sunday and even though I'm not going anyplace warm I'm still hoping for some kind of relief from Canadia's ongoing arctic conditions. It's MARCH ffs, Canada. STOP IT NOW.

Things I am enjoying today:

This article about THard's tats linked by cherrybina. So much to love here, especially the image of his poor mum saying "my beautiful boy" after he gets his first tattoo.

This interview with THard, in which he gets a little riled (mostly in the second half) by some kind of blatantly invasive questions. I just want to give him a hug and a cookie afterwards. In a non-invasive way, if possible.

The fact that lately and I spent about an hour extensively researching THard's curly right pinkie finger after xenakis made the delightful observation that both he and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (he who is the model for Steinway!Eames in many ways) share this little quirk. Here is xenakis's comment (and subsequent squeefest with lately on the subject.) You can best see THard's curly pinkie in the video linked directly above. (Our deep investigations led us to conclude that it's rare to find THard showing off said curly pinkie which led us to then conclude that he might be a little self-conscious about it because there are lots of photos of his LEFT HAND and almost NONE of his right, which in turn led to us saying "AAAAAAAAWWWWW MONKEY" for another ten minutes. WE LOVE YOUR CURLY PINKIE TOM. DON'T HIDE IT FROM US BB.)

So, Steinway. This is how Steinway is going right now, in summary:

Me: No, it's okay. :0)
I just hate everything and want to die. Everything I write in this 'verse is total crap.
BUT I'M FINE OK

Lately: So, THard's pinkie, huh?

Me:....[no answer for 40 minutes]

Me: So, I wrote 1000 words just now. Some of them maybe don't suck too bad.

Repeat this every day for the last three weeks and you get a glimpse into how Steinway is going for me. (This is broken up by me periodically writing and posting other fic with great energy while Lately says things like "EXCUSE ME YOU HAVE 10,000 WORDS OF STEINWAY JUST SITTING THERE USELESS. NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING.")

It was fun recently to find out that a friend from another fandom is Steinway-verse crazy! :-D I'm on Twitter as mspixieriot although I am NOWHERE near as active as I used to be.

Hi you! I follow you on my fannishly-sekrit IRL Twitter account, actually...but I try not to cross the streams if you know what I'm sayin'. It's one of those weird things where you somehow trust fannish people not to blow your cover because non-fannish IRL peeps don't get it. (You are, of course, in the former camp. <3)

Hah, yes, I know what you mean about people not getting it, that's for sure. :P Wasn't sure if you were still using the other one or not, as I'm so out of it where Twitter is concerned lately.

I use it very seldom but I do use it occasionally. Mostly it's to follow other more interesting people. Ha.
