Fic Year in Review 2010
This is the first year in review I've done since 2007, but I will limit myself to this calendar year anyway, for the sake of brevity.
2003: 9 stories. The Year of Discovering Fandom.
2004: 40 stories. The Year of First Fandom Love.
2005: 17 stories. The Year of First Fandom Disenchantment.
2006: 18 stories. The Year of Second Fandom Love and First Fandom Farewell.
2007: 19 stories. The Year of 'Yep, This Is All the Time I Have For This.'
2008: 8 stories. The Year I Drifted Away.
2009: 8 stories. The Year I Was Gone A Lot.
2010: 14 stories. The Year I Came Back, Yaye!
All told: 133 stories. Whoa. I will not check the word count because I'm lazy, but it's up there probably.

1. In the Interval - SGA - the one where I declog my writing brain by scribbling down lots and lots of porn.
2. Dichotomy - SGA - the one where Rodney doesn't get the rules of "Who'd You Rather"
3. Positively Charmed - SGA - the one where John doesn't really notice how Rodney is wooing him
4. John and Rodney Fucking - SGA/YPF - the one where I pay homage to a movie called YPF.
5. Omne Animal - SGA - the one where Rodney and John are totally late for senior staff but they sort of don't care.
6. How Not to Fly - SGA - the one where John's brother dies and Rodney's there to help
7. Plan D, or How Rodney McKay Went Offworld and Found His Way Home Again - SGA -the one where Rodney has to get along with John's special alien friends
8. It Isn't That Amazing - SGA - the one where Rodney gives the birds and the bees talk and John makes a solemn oath on Odin's name
9. Things Beyond Your Ken - SGA - the one where John and Rodney encounter the perils of teen girl heartbreak
10. Quiche Isn't Gay - Glee - the Glee one that no one really read
11. The Tell - SGA - the DADT fake-out one
12. Hot Box - SGA - the one with the farting and the covers and the omg-plor-is-6 humor
13. To Capture, Conquer and Court - Inception - the Inception one where Eames kidnaps Arthur sort of accidentally
14. Holy Matrimony, Batman - SGA - the one where John and Rodney watch Batman and then have sex
My favorite: Fond as I am of How Not to Fly and its assorted codas, I think my favorite is Positively Charmed. It's neat and ebullient and structured and funny and compact. I wish I only ever wrote like this.
My best: Probably Positively Charmed again, for the same reasons.
Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: As always, the hard one to answer without seeming like an entitled douche...but probably have to go with John and Rodney Fucking. Either the title or the source material (an obscure Canfilm) put people off, but I really like some bits of this story.
Most fun story: To Capture, Conquer and Court. My first (and, thus far, only) Inception fic, but more importantly the most Harlequin-y thing I've ever written. It was tremendous fun. My audiencer/cheerleader (I didn't have time for a beta) wishes that I'd had more hours to edit and ponder and plot and expand on it, and she's probably right, but I still quite enjoy this story.
Sexiest story: Hmm, I like the sex bits in most of my stories (or I wouldn't write them, I suppose) but I quite enjoy the sexy part of my latest fic -Holy Matrimony, Batman.
Story with single sexiest moment: This probably makes me weird or something but I really like the part of It Isn't That Amazing when John and Rodney decide to videotape themselves and then watch it later.
Hardest story to write: How Not to Fly. I'm kind of amazed I wrote this at all (and in quite a short length of time, no less!) I really struggled with the end of Part 2, which is kind of the pivotal point of the fic, but thank god my audience and betas pulled me through it.
Most unintentionally telling story: Hot Box. Sometime I will manage to write a full year's worth of stories without making reference to farting or bums. SOMETIME.
Next Year, I Will...
1) Expand into (a) new fandom(s).
2) Write another long-form fic, probably in SGA.
3) Write some original fiction -- something I haven't done in more than 7 years.
4) Upload (most of) my fic to AO3.
