Fic-shaped thing: Untitled.

For anyone who wants to know it, I am still chipping away at Steinway!verse and have not only a new 13K completed fic (in beta) but some 30,000 words in as-yet-incomplete fics (three of them) that should, I hope, round out the 'verse and stop people from tagging it on Delicious with things like "horrible and sad and idk why this author is so mean to Eames, she has ruined everything, and also I think she eats babies". I hope.

Anyway, because I am done writing all the angst for today, have some really woefully incomplete pieces of fic that I wrote some time ago. It was meant to be a sequel to the utterly vapid (but beloved by me) Let Not My Love Be Called Idolatry but I came to realize I couldn't actually have two plotless angstless stories in the same vein, and I was unwilling to traumatize either Eames or Arthur in this 'verse when I am doing it so much in Steinway at the moment.

To recap: sequel, incomplete, and not likely to be completed, at least not in WIP format. I am a total sucky wuss about posting WIPs, hence the long disclaimer. *flails* DON'T BE DISAPPOINTED IN ME OK. This fic-fragment contains R-rated material, and -- more dangerously -- stupid high school kids being stupid. No violence and not really any angst though.

It's prom, maybe a year later, maybe that same year, idk, I suck at timelines )

So I have a habit of posting WIP excerpts, which maybe makes a lot of these vaguely familiar. Still, I have a rather embarrassingly large number of WIPs, most of which are probably lost causes (especially from the SGA list, as most are at least a couple years stale). In the interest of full disclosure, I admit that the fics on this list were filtered out from another list at least twice as long. But honestly, you don't want the full list. It's just weird and vaguely depressing.

I'm bad at naming stuff. Ask for a description if you're curious; I can even post a sentence or two.

SGA:

barebum
canuckophilia
celibacy
condoms
conserve water
dannai
dresscode
drunkrodney
exwife
getting babies
heat
highschool au
hntf mommy mafia
napkins
night peer
Skeev
The Last 6 Days
Whither Thou Goest

Misc:
DS fic (Due South)
groogie (Doogie Howser. I know.)

Inception:

After Eames Leaves
Brick Shithouse
hotel surprise
wedding

Odds and Ends

When I am seeking the Next Great Plot Bunny, I often drift through the little pieces of stories that I've started and never continued.  These range in size from a paragraph to (in one notable case) over 40 pages, and as I'm now entering my 6th year as an SGA writer, there are a lot of them.  So many of the ideas aren't workable for a hundred reasons -- the main idea of the plot has been jossed, or I was trying on a style that didn't suit me, or sometimes I've rewritten the seed of the story in an entirely different way.  I came across this little snippet from a story where John is the best man at Rodney and Keller's wedding (and I can't honestly recall where that was headed, though it was likely McShep) and discovered this little piece which obviously mutated later into one of the main ideas in Waiting for My Real Life to Begin.  Honestly, I'd completely forgotten that I'd tried writing that story before in this way!

Keller's a young'un )

So many of my little snippets are pretty much that, and not much more -- a few silly bits of dialogue that maybe have one good joke and not much else.  But I suppose, as tempting as it is to take those little moments and try to expand upon them, the real thing I need to be perusing is the core of the idea I was trying to write.

More little incomplete fic nuggets below this cut:

Cut! )

P.S., if you wish to demand more of any of these or from any of my past SGA WIP amnesty posts (SGA ones are here and here), please do.  I am all at loose ends and it may help to have someone say "THAT ONE.  WRITE THAT."

Long-Lost Fic: the Amnesty Edition

Sometimes I entertain myself by opening up long-dead fic idea files on my computer and trying to remember where I'd been going with each one.

This one was going to be Ronon/Elizabeth (this was before I managed to write The Singer and the Song):

Whither Thou Goest )

SYTYCD Atlantis )

Those Skeevy Ancients )

That incredibly long (seriously, nearly 16,000 words) story I started writing last spring that pretty much sucked. (Excerpt only.) )

Anyone else out there got some long-lost fic to share?

WIP amnesty, sort of

So although I simply don't have the energy for fandom creativity these days, I do occasionally page through old false starts of fics I wanted to write, 99% of which are never going anywhere. So, in a sort of bastardization of WIP amnesty, here are a few little funny bits that I wish I could reuse elsewhere:

WiP Amnesty!

Finally! A fic-posting thing I can do!

It bears re-re-reiteration that this is WiP Amnesty and therefore, no. I won't write more. I promise, this is it, love it or leave it.

Fandom: Smallville
Rating: PG (though it would totally have gotten way smuttier)
Pairing: Clark/Lex
Summary: Clark gets sent back in time. Hijinks ensue.

A/N: Okay, so the idea is that future!SuperClark gets sent back somehow (insert phlebotnum here) into the body of his puppy!Clark self (think 1st season). His enmity for Lex is strong, but eventually he gets to remember how Lex used to be. This turns into noticing how he used to be around Lex. Which of course ends in the gay sex. Amen.

The file's called 'Switcheroo', sadly, so I'm gonna have to go with that. )

Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Sam/Dean. See A/N.
Summary: Supposed to have been a sort of 'missing scenes' extravaganza.

A/N: I wrote exactly one extended fic in SPN and I honestly thought I'd write more because I love the show, but it turns out I do have some scruples (damn it!) and I just can't write the brotherly love. This fic was headed that way, and so it got stalled. Sorry about that. But I love pieces of this so much, I wish I could salvage it somehow.

If their lives were a TV show )

Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: R
Pairing: Sam/Dean. AU. See A/N.
Summary: Sam's a hooker. Dean's his defense attorney. Or something. I never got that far.

A/N: Here's another unfinished Wincest piece. I'm actually under orders from [livejournal.com profile] sparktastic to finish this ("I don't even watch this show, but -- hooker! You HAVE TO OMG."), but I won't.

Hooker!Sammy )

Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: I have no clue. Well, initially it's McKay/Brown. But I think it was sort of headed for McKay/Sheppard.
Summary: Katie's POV. It's weird.

A/N: Another fic I can't seem to make any progress with, though this time it's not because of incest, thank god. I love isolated moments of this and I even have a vague idea of what the arc might have been, but it all got a bit jossed by 'Sunday' and I found myself not minding -- so, here:

Weird McKay/Brown )

Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Rating: R
Pairing: N/A. I think it's sort of gen, though there may have been some established McKay/Sheppard in there.
Summary: Post-apocalypse fic without the apocalypse.

A/N: I love the idea of the post-apocalyptic world, and SGA seems to lend itself to that scenario nicely -- it would be so simple to cut the expedition off from the Milky Way, and with the Wraith, losing Atlantis could be all too simple. My notion with this fic was to write a post-apocalyptic AU where no one talks about what happened and everyone starts to realize that life is just *life*, even after the worst has come and gone. I planned to write the fic as a series of emotional 'postcards' from the Atlantis crew, not really joined up except in theme. It got a bit too disjointed and I lost interest. Oh, and this is the second (2nd) fic where I go into detail about peeing outside. I need help.

No, I'm not having a terribly productive day or anything -- this fic was actually written in July while I was visiting [livejournal.com profile] sparktastic in London, and I just remembered to retrieve it from her laptop today.

She wanted boarding school uniform smut.  So I turned to the long-dead (RIP) Excelsior WiP... and all you need to know is that Lex is 15 and his boyfriend is a total blond slut who is, of course, beautiful.

Rating: NC-17
Characters: Lex, Phillip
Summary: Silk panties, knee socks, and two boys.
A/N: Yay for porn-on-demand!
